Bounce House

Yesterday we went to The Bounce House and I had HUGE fun. I played in the baby bounce houses, but I'm just too crazy for those baby areas so we went to the big kid houses and had some real fun. Me and my cousin Naomi went down the huge slides, and I only flopped over onto my face once, and I loved it (unfortunately there was no camera for that one).

Year One In Pictures

The Big #1

I made it! Year 1 down! I could get used to this birthday thing....I had four celebrations. I started out with a party in New Mexico with my grandma and papa, then a day with my girlfriends to celebrate our collective birthdays, then the 'B' Team (mom, dad, Chermo, Aunt Rach and Zach) had a party for me at the climbing gym, and finally on my ACTUAL birthday I had a full day of special fun.

First Trick Or Treat!

Tigger bouncing up to get some candy from a stranger!

Halloween!

What a cool holiday! I got to dress up in a cool outfit, go to lots of parties, laugh at the other kid's funny costumes, walk up to people's houses and reach in their bowl of goodies, and eat lots of candy (OK, so I didn't get to eat the candy this year, maybe next year). What could be better?!?! We were the full Winnie the Pooh cast- I was Tigger (Tiggers are wonderful things), mom was Piglet, Dad was Christopher Robin and Blue was Eyore. And we took my stuffed Pooh along to complete the cast.

I'm on a boat!

We went out on our friend Santi's catamaran and I had the BEST time ever! I don't think there is a photo of me with my mouth closed from the whole day. I was just so happy the entire time! The best part was coming upon a pod of dolphins. I got so excited, I was pointing and laughing, and then the adrenalin died and I was so exhausted I had to fall asleep on my mom's chest right there! I think I'm an ocean lover for life (at least my mom hopes so).

Oldies but Goodies

We were a bit remiss in posting photos, so here is a collection of some of the best pics over the past few months (there's some goodies!).

Swimming at Grandma and Papa's

This video is from my last trip to Grandma and Papa's, back in August. I celebrated by 8 month birthday with them on that trip. I love swimming in the hot tub, here I am taking my first dives into the water.

Big Time Walking

Visiting my Grandma and Papa is awesome- all fun, all the time! I'm now on the move, running around grandma and papa's yard.

Livin' the Life in Jiquilillo

I had the time of my life this past week in Jiquilillo. The beach was awesome and I loved playing in the sand with all my new friends. I actually liked eating the sand best of all, as you can tell by my mouthfull of dirt.

Dad liked burying me in the sand, which I thought was pretty awesome. Check out Pelucha in the background, my trusty pup that was always by my side (licking my face and nipping my toes).

Mom and dad set up my bathtub at the edge of camp, it was great to splash around while overlooking the ocean. Pretty spoiled, I know. I also liked to crawl in and out of the tub, which didn't always work so well and I often ended up on my face in the dirt.

I liked to just wander around camp as well- hanging out under the palm trees, crawling over the rocks, playing under the table. It was a great place for me to just roam free, which I loved.

Chele Palmado

A couple guys from DC opened up a bar right next door (and I mean right next door, about 30 feet out our front door) and had their opening celebration on 4th of July. I became a real barfly, hanging out at the bar, getting to know the bartender and the waitress. My drink of choice: breastmilk, straight up.

El Mercado

We did a day trip into Rivas, the big city, to do some shopping at the market. I enjoyed the car ride and chewing on Chelote (like mini corn), but all in all it was hot and crowded there and I was happy to get back to the beach!

Big day at the beach

OK, I've actually had LOTS of big days at the beach. I love the sand and the surf, and mom and dad love how it tires me out. Here's some shots from our beach days.....

Mi Novia

Well, today I turned 7 months old, and I already found myself an older and more sophisticated girlfriend. Elle is 1 1/2 years and can walk, but that doesn't intimidate me. El Chelito (that's me) is an unstoppable force in Nicaragua, and the girls cannot resist my pasty white body, blonde flowing hair, and my big blue eyes. Elle took one look and had to give me un abrazo and a beso (that's a hug and a kiss). I'm sure she'll be back for more. When I'm not flirting with the local girls, I like to head over to the rock cliffs in front of our place and watch the sunset with my Mom and Dad. You can walk all the way around them into an isolated mile-long beach as well.

La Gaviota

My first rides in a boat (panga or lancha en espanol) were on the La Gaviota, owned by Rafa and his family, who own our favorite restaurant by the same name. My first trip was a little rough- I threw up a little, but I did great on my second ride! Yesterday they took us out on the boat for the second time, we dropped dad off to surf and me and mom went on to San Juan del Sur where we walked around town and had some lunch. They always get things set up just right for me, putting up a hammock in the boat for me to sleep in, and in the restaurant so mom and dad can eat. They just love me!

El Acopio

Well, I've settled right into my home away from home- El Acopio. Its got a great hammock where I like to hang out and take naps with my dad. It also has lots of gecko's, which I think are pretty cool. I accidentally pulled this guy's tail off before dad could stop me (its OK though, it'll grow back). I would have eaten it if they had let me.
